TS POLYCET 2023 is an exam organized by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana. It is conducted once a year to help students get admission to diploma courses in engineering and technology offered by colleges in Telangana. To be eligible for the exam, you need to have completed your 10th standard or an equivalent course from a recognized board. Eligibility criteria for TS POLYCET 2023

  • Candidates must have completed their 10th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • A minimum of 35% marks are required in the qualifying examination to be eligible for the TS POLYCET 2023 exam.
  • There is no age limit for candidates who want to appear for the exam.
  • Candidates who are appearing for their 10th standard examination in the same year as the TS POLYCET exam are also eligible to apply.
  • However, such candidates must provide proof of passing the examination at the time of admission.

Application Fee - TS POLYCET 2023

  • For SC/ST the examination fee is Rs. 250
  • For Others the examination fee is Rs. 500

To apply for the TS POLYCET 2023, you need to follow these 4 steps: 

  • Step 1: Registration
    • Go to the official website and click on the registration link. Enter your details such as name, mobile number, email, caste and choose a password. 
    • Make sure you enter accurate details as it will be used for further communication. 
    • After entering the details, click on the submit button.
  • Step 2: Application Login
    • Once you have registered, you will receive a registration number on your mobile number or email id. 
    • You can use this number or your mobile number and password to login to your application portal.
  • Step 3: Payment of Fee
    • After logging in, you need to pay the application fee. The application fee amount will be mentioned on the website. 
    • You can make the payment using any of the available payment methods.
  • Step 4: Fill Application Form
    • Once the payment is made, you can proceed to fill in the application form. 
    • Fill in the detailed information about your ssc hall ticket number, caste, study information from 1st to 10th and address details. 
    • Then, upload your photograph and signature and give the declaration. 
    • After that, checkmark and preview the application form.

Syllabus and exam pattern for TS POLYCET 2023

The POLYCET exam will be conducted for 2 hours 30 minutes, and it will consist of only one paper covering four subjects, namely
  1.  Mathematics 
  2. Physics
  3. Chemistry
  4. Biology

The syllabus will be based on the X Class (S.S.C.) Examination held in Academic Year 2023-2024 as prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana State.

The total marks for the POLYCET exam will be 150, with
  1. Mathematics carrying 60 marks,
  2.  Physics and Chemistry carrying 30 marks each, 
  3. and Biology carrying 30 marks.

The duration of the exam will be from 11:00 AM to 01:30 PM

It's important to note that candidates who are willing to take admission to the Agricultural & Veterinary Diploma Courses offered by PJTSAU & PVNRTVU & SKLTSHU should attempt Biology Questions.

The question paper pattern will be divided into four sections, and the number of questions and marks for each section is as follows:

  • Section I: Maths - 60 Questions for 60 Marks
  • Section II: Physics - 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  • Section III: Chemistry - 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  • Section IV: Biology - 30 Questions for 30 Marks

The question paper will have a choice of four responses for each question, and only one of them will be the correct response.

The POLYCET exam will generate two separate ranks:

  • MPC Rank: for students who desire to take admission into Diploma Courses in Polytechnics affiliated to SBTET.
  • MBiPC Rank: for students who desire to take admission into courses offered by PJTSAU, SKLTSHU, and PVNRTVU Diploma Courses based on marks obtained in Math’s, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

The minimum marks required to qualify for admission through POLYCET are:

  • To get into Polytechnic courses offered by SBTET, you need to score at least 36 marks in total in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, which is equivalent to 30% of the total 120 marks.
  • To get admission into Agricultural Polytechnics of Prof. Jayashankar Agricultural University, Veterinary Polytechnics of P.V. Narsimha Rao Veterinary University, Hyderabad, and Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, you need to score at least 36 marks in total for Maths (60/2), Biology, Physics, and Chemistry combined. This is 30% of the total marks of 120.
